Dr. Suman Singh is Senior Principal Scientist at CSIR-CSIO and faculty advisor of ACS CSIO International Student Chapter. Since its inception, she has led and mentored our chapter, actively participating in all its activities. As a true leader, she fosters the growth of the chapter, believing in her team's potential. Dr. Singh is among the most accomplished scientists in her field and holds a very humble and charismatic personality.
Dr. Akashdeep is Scientist-G at Institute of NanoScience and Technology, Mohali and co-faculty Advisor of our chapter. His research areas include advanced nanomaterials like MOFs, Graphene, conducting polymers with applications aligned with biosensing, waste-to-wealth and energy storage. He has been the guiding light for our chapter since the very beginning and always motivates us to do society oriented activities.
Raj Rani is currently pursuing her Ph.D. at CSIR-CSIO, where her research is focused on developing an edible coating or film that can increase the shelf life of agricultural produce. Their dedicated efforts aim to create a more inclusive and approachable environment, for this cause, he is also known for being a friendly and supportive team player. Raj Rani enjoys taking part in community and social activities and is always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Neelam is currently pursuing her Joint Ph.D. at CSIR-CSIO and RMIT University with research focus on development of high-efficiency multimarker platforms for detecting ovarian cancer biomarkers. As a former president, she managed several chapter events and activities. She is passionate in expanding outreach efforts, aiming to bridge the gap between academia and society. Neelam is a very friendly teammate and loves community and social activities.
Shavita is currently pursuing her Ph.D. at CSIR-CSIO, Chandigarh with her research focusing on the synthesis of MXene-based composites and their application in energy storage devices. Being a new member of the ACS student chapter, she is deeply passionate about the journey ahead and the prospect of collaboration for projects, initiatives, or events. She feels proud to be part of the ACS student chapter and looking forward for future events and outreach programs.
Swapna is currently pursuing her Ph.D. at CSIR-CSIO, Chandigarh. Her research focus is on efficient catalyst development for Hydrogen generation. She is also working as a Project Associate for “Green Hydrogen Mission” led by Govt. of India. She is a Self-motivated, Dynamic, and result-oriented professional with strong interpersonal skills obtained via extensive training in cross-functional teams. She has a keen interest in music and photography.
Shubham is a doctoral candidate at CSIR-CSIO and RMIT University, specializing in photo/electrocatalysis. He has a strong inclination towards addressing wastewater remediation issues through his research. Shubham has been a part of the ACS CSIO chapter team since 2022 as the treasurer and has been a strong asset for the development of our chapter. Shubham has great love for playing sports and travel and really enjoys meeting new people.
Shivalika is pursuing her PhD in Computer Vision in Cotutelle program of AcSIR-RMIT, Australia and holds strong academic records. She is awarded with CSIR-SRF Direct fellowship 2024 and Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship. Since 2023 at ACS-CSIO, she has been contributing in web-mastering and promoting events, activities, seminars on digital platforms and electronic media for a wider reach and engagement.
